(Until the tech issue is fixed)

In response to "96 degrees", Andy posted:

----
(1) is correct

although I have rarely heard body temp expressed in F, I am willing to accept that some people do.

Maybe its like the weather - the higher ones temperature is, the more likely they are to express it in F!

My response: I'm with Andy on this - (1) is correct.

BWMA

Has Steve/Stimpy actually been barred from the inner boards, or is it just some sort of login problem?

If he has been barred, why????

There are few enough people debating on the boards as it is, and I don't recall him posting anything offensive.

On the previous occasion that someone was barred, he had blatantly ignored BWMA's instruction: -

"Terms such as <xxx> and <yyy> and other derogatory abbreviations for imperial/metric units are now on banned on this forum. Posters who use foul-language may be suspended without warning. Thank you."

I don't recall any further instructions, and don't think that any of Steve/Stimpy's posts have breached either the spirit or the letter of the instruction above.

Bud suggested (when Steve questioned why posts were being deleted)

"BWMA,
May I request that for a short period of time, instead of deleting posts, you reply to them with the quote you find objectionable and the reasons? I know that it would be an additional burden on you, but it would help us to understand what is acceptable and what isn't, which will mean you will need to delete less posts in the long run. Thank you."

I totally agree with Bud on this point. It has to be better than arbitrarily banning posters. I hope that others (pro metric & pro imperial) would agree.

Steve may not have been banned but is experiencing some sort of blocking of the type the RIP had a few months ago. It could be that something happened to his computer that may be preventing the web page from accessing a cookie. It could be a recently installed security update if he has Windows that is blocking access to the site. It could be a filter that blocks access to sites that run ads, such as Network54 does. It could be a million things. I doubt the BWMA would block a dues paying supporter.

Steve's problems also happened around the time the site was experiencing connection problems. Something may have glitched and is blocking him. As with RIP, BWMA was powerless to help. From my search of Network54, there doesn't seem to be a person running it. It seems totally automated so if a problem arises, the person experiencing the problem is SOL.

Maybe Steve can make a substantial financial donation to BWMA so they can afford to move to a better service with a more user friendly means of posting.

The account is locked, not the software/pc.
Of course it might have been "aged out" for some reason but I don't know why.

The other possibility is that BWMA has removed "shumpppp" from the list of users.

It might be time for Steve to just create a new Network54 login rather than try to fix what ever is wrong with the current one.
