As others, I paid for a watch from SKW and they never received a watch.
I am not using my real name, since I want no further contact with SKW. BUT I AM A REAL COSTUMER, otherwise why would I bother writing all these messages.
SKW never responded to my emails or faxes. My credit card company also tried to contact them, with no success.
Since it is an international company, my credit card company says that US fraud protection rules do not apply. I was able to negotiate for a 50% credit from my credit card company. So I have still lost $350.

I'd like to inform you about one of the watch seller. ILM GROUP company with website www.skw.net. In October I paid about $8400 for Girard Perregaux "Retour En Vol" Automatic Chronograph Series-MOD. GP 007 .
It was an excellent communication before I transferred money to their Bank Account .
Since then I only received one letter in the middle of November:
"Dear mr. Apriatin,
Thank you for your e-mail.
Our watchmaker was not satisfied with the accuracy of the watch. He is checking it. We will inform you ASAP when we will ship the watch by Express.
Thank you for your understanding and for your patience.
Kind regards.
Linda Meyer - sales".
I have all paperwork including all correspondence with www.skw.net .
Right now they keep silence to my letters, faxes and American attorney's request.
By all this I assume this company's business is just regular FRAUD.

I have a Concorde Les Palais 14K gold watch. It has 40 diamonds on the bezel and gold number dots. It has a black face and I need to know it's approximate value. I cannot find one listed for sale with a black face. I have lost almost everything in Hurricane Katrina and need to sell this to help rebuild. I need the cash but don't want to get taken. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ask this question on Watchnet.com on the deal watch thread or on timezone.com. If you need a good merchant, try smwatches.com or collectorstime.com. Very honest, good prices, great service.

As close as I can determine, it is really a sort of middle-man company that puts their name on products developed by other companies. You can put your name on a watch if you want to and for less than $50.00. I've seen this advertised in in-flight magazines, and companies apparently do it for their employees or as give-aways. Some people put the husbands name on one watch and the wife's on another. I don't believe the watches are very high end, and I'm not sure you can purchase them anyplace other than ebay. Their website offers no mail address and no customer relations or corporate relations information. Furthermore, I can't find them listed in any European business lists. They may or may not be ok watches, there is no way to tell, but they certainly have no history or lineage.

I live in Sweden and ordered a Omega Seamaster and TTT promised all the papers (warranty etc)would go with the watch and that I would have the watch 3-4 days after the had recived the payment. I took more than 3 months before I got the watch. They would refuce to canceled the deal. If not the American Express in Sweden havn't contacted them I quite sure I wouldn't got the watch at all. When the watch recived there were no papers at all. I still haven't got the papers!
When you post a question about TTT to different Swedish watchforum the laugh!

TimeToTime.com and SKW.net are apparently "evil twins" as described by another poster in DEAL WATCH on Watchnet.com.
Both SKW and TimeToTime are spin offs of a now defunct and often critized site called watchdream.com.
Both sites claim to have Swiss based origins. Neither is listed with the Geneva or Swiss business unions. Both have numerous complaints lodged against them with Geneva Police and Magistrate Canton of Vaud, NYS Attorney General and FBI Internet Fraud Division. Both share the same FedEx drop off address, neither identifies its numbered street address or direct telephone in its web site or its principals. TimeToTime.com shared WatchDream's identical telephone number at one time. Both use NJ fax numbers (and fail to identify a contact by name or address). Both have the same webmaster and identical IP addresses. For more information, please check out Deal Watch on WatchNet.com and do a search on posts by Adrian.

In my ongoing dispute with TimeToTime.com and subsequent request to American Express to investigate the transaction, this is the response received:
American Express cannot force the establishment to accept the return of the merchandise or process a cancellation.
In my particular case, TimeTotime.com violated their own terms of sale by not confirming the order as requested, delaying shipment beyond what was promised without informing me, and not contacting me to "know if I maintain my order" as published on its web site in its terms of sale. TTT received my notices of cancellation by both email and fax (electronically recorded) and then still sent a watch 3 months after receipt of cancellation. And, sent the wrong watch.
What AMEX is saying is that regardless of how backwards the transaction goes, unethical, outside the terms of sale, wrong merchandise, etc....AMEX will stand by the merchant, not the cardmember in any case where the merchant says it has a no return policy. American Express, in this case, protects the merchant based on the merchant's claim.
Lesson: NEVER PURCHASE FROM A MERCHANT WITH A NO RETURN POLICY
NEVER DEAL WITH CROOKS LIKE DEBBIE SMITH AT TIMETOTIME.COM
DO NOT RELY ON AMERICAN EXPRESS TO HELP YOU IN SUCH A SITUATION.
American Express should be ashamed to be associated with an organization as dishonest as TimeToTime.com.

I have purchased a number of watches in the past year, many over the internet. Most of my experiences were wonderful. One in particular was, and remains, so horrible, lacking ethics, professionalism, honesty and best practices. I post this experience in an effort to save anyone else considering this seller the expense and time I went through.
After 9 months of trying to work through my problems with TimeToTime.com, American Express informs me that regardless of how unethically TTT transacted their sale, they are a foreign company and American Express cannot interfere with their stated policies.
American Express did not seem to care that they are in a relationship with a vendor using Amex as a payment pass through for spurious transactions.
TimeToTime.com sent me a watch (with the wrong dial face) 5 months after the original transaction (after stating a 6 week delivery), 3 months after receiving my cancellation (their receipt is electronically documented for both the fax and email they received), and without contacting me to find out "if I maintained my order" after numerous delays (a policy published on their web site as a term of sale).
DEBBIE SMITH and JOHN BERTANI WHO MANAGE TIMETOTIME.COM ARE UNETHICAL MERCHANTS BORDERING ON CRIMINAL. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR OVERSEAS STATUS TO RENDER RECOURSE THROUGH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY USELESS.
American Express should be ashamed to be associated with such an organization.
PLEASE FELLOW BUYERS, DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELVES TO BE PUT IN SUCH A POSTION BY TIMETOTIME.COM. Be smart...be safe.

I am looking for a RESPECTABLE dealer in an attempt to buy a new Kelek (probably Caliber 7000).
Can anyone help? Has Kelek disappeared for good with the Breitling acquisition, or does anyone have any info on a U.S. distributor? If they are gone, I guess I am looking for new old stock...

I just took delivery of a Tag Heuer Alter Ego ladies watch today from watchesplanet.com. The price was approx. $1194.00. It was shipped with FedEx. So far everything has gone smooth. The order through delivery took 4 days total. I requested the watch to be giftwrapped and will know more on Christmas morning when my wife unwraps it. Should there be any problem I will repost.

Ordered a watch from SKW after reviewing forum posting in regard to this dealer. Had several communication with Linda Meyer of SKW and everything is great. In reviewing all the negative posting in the forum against SKW, I must conclude that perhaps some of those consumers which had bad experiences with SKW would have had bad experience with any other dealers regardless of the dealer's good intensions. My suggestion to any others interested in ordering a good swiss watch and want to pay less.. give SKW a good consideration.

I echo the sentiments of those who were defrauded by this unscrupulous firm. I spent US$920 on a watch that they claimed would be shipped "within 4 to 6 weeks." After nine months I still had not received the watch or a refund. Only after contacting all of SKW's references (listed on their website) by e-mail did Linda Meyer finally relent and issued a wire transfer for a net US$857. Based on what I've heard about these swindlers, I guess I should consider myself lucky. STAY AWAY FROM SKW. They are the worst Internet firm I have come across.

I have in my possession an Ernst Borel watch, it is a chronograph, perhaps about 1950 - 60's as i was informed.
Description of it - silver body, Off-white dial, 2 inner dials at 3 & 9 o'clock, right hand side of the face 2 buttons one either side of the winder, which is grooved. On the rear it says it is waterproof too and has 2 serial numbers on the back.
It is a Chronograph, laymans terms a stopwatch.
It has to wound up to keep going.
There is a problem with it and that is the stopwatch function does not work. Does anyone have any ideas on:
1 - Age
2 - Value
3 - Can it be repaired
Any info would help me as this was my grandfathers.

Another warning for people that consider ordering from SKW.
On 15 January 2004 I ordered a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Taille from SKW. SKW’s Linda Meyer confirmed receipt of the US$ 2535 purchase price - which I paid by bank transfer - on 28 January 2004. Prior to making the order, I had extensive e-mail correspondence with Linda Meyer. Since 28 January, however, my many e-mails and faxes to SKW requesting information about the expected delivery date are not answered and the watch is not yet delivered.
On 23 February 2004 I sent SKW a demand letter in which I demanded to have the watch delivered in proper condition and with the right paperwork or to be fully repaid ultimately on 27 February 2004. SKW has not done so (nor did respond in any way).
I have reported SKW for cyber crime to the cyber crime department, the Brigade Criminalité Informatique, of the Geneva police. If other victims of SKW want to do so as well, the general e-mail address of the Geneva police (i.e. the "departement de justice, police et sécurité") is djps@etat.ge.ch. Its website is http://www.geneve.ch/djps. I will report SKW to the authorities in the other relevant jurisdiction as well.

Do you know anything about (new) Vidar watches? How much are they? What store carries them- in the USA or in London. Also, if there are fakes out there- I have seen some for sale on ebay and the prices do not make sense- for the new ones. I am wondering if it is a scam of some kind- they say they are $1000 plus watches but sell for much much less- I am wondering if they are stolen of fakes. Could you buy one for 150 or $250 dollars(US)? I can not even determine if the company is real. My father may have been ripped off Thank you for any help you can provide

Did you get any response to the authenticity of Vidar?? I also purchased a watch on ebay for an extraordinary "deal" but am having doubts as I now have noticed some inconsistancies between my watch and the watches on Vidar's website.

I just purchsed a Vidar on E-Bay. I haven't recieved the watch yet. I too am somewhat skeptical that you can purchase a watch with a suggested retail of $1000.00+ for $100.00-$150.00. Can't find much info about Vidar on the net either. Was able to find a few collector sites with vintage Vidar pieces. But no major department stores or jewelers. My gut tells me the old adage is probably going to apply "if it looks or sounds too good to be true...then it probably is"

I too was purchased a vidar watch from ebay. I found the company website (www.vidar-watches.com) and my watch was part of the collection. Does anyone what store carry these vidar watches???
Posted on Jun 23, 2004, 2:37 PM from IP address 192.250.34.161
I had the Vidar Chrono I purchased on E-Bay appraised. The watch indeed is most likeley Swiss made, however the $1300.00 - $1595.00 advertised suggested retail is being a bit more than generous for my particular timepiece. According to my appraiser the watch is probably worth somewhere in the $200.00 - $300.00 range. Given what I paid for it and the fact it really is a decent looking watch, thats not too bad, but it was definitely not the deal of the century!!!

I just bought one from e-bay via Germany. It's a very well finished stainless watch, but I doubt that it's all Swiss, if at all! There is no indication of place of manufacture, so I'd guess somewhere eastern. Let's face it, if you're buying a quartz watch by a company you've never heard of before would you really shell out $1600? For the $100 or so I paid with shipping, I think it's an excellent deal for a nicely manufactured watch. But saving $1500? Come on, folks!

Re: Vidar Watches- Are they a Swiss Brand? or Fake?
by Jim
COME ON GUYS!!!
Just a little exercise for you all
Go to eBay.com and type in VIDAR under watches and check the "Worldwide" button....
You will see watches on auction ALL over the world from exactly the same outfit...with different registered names but same look and feel and ME
There will be LOTS of auctions starting in the $$££EUR thousands and "Buy it now" for lots of money. These are the "teasers". The website links are THEIRS too!!! OH sure you get a genuine VIDAR warranty - and WHO precisely are VIDAR....
THEN they put up VERY Low starting auctions...say $5 or so and guess what!? You ALL think "wow I have a bargain there!!!" Probably some people will occasionally have more money than sense and pay the high teaser or RRP prices!
I shake these guys hands because they are SO VERY clever...make you think that these things are worth thousands when in fact they are relatively good quality cheap watches that are NOT FAKES...there is NOTHING for them to be the fake OF!!!! They are simply relying on the "designer culture" egos we all have....and they are winning with their formula.
While there are people out there that believe in the concept of a free lunch they will profit......

I purchased a Vidar Moveris last year. It's a very nice looking watch, and considering what I paid for it, not a bad deal. I have noticed recently that it has been slowly losing time, which is unusual I think considering this is a quartz watch. I've tried contacting Vidar to find out where I can get the watch serviced, since it's still under warranty, but have gotten no reply. I've noticed that on the Vidar website, they've lowered their suggested prices for most of their watches.

I purchased a Vidar Watch off of Ebay last year. I know that Vidar is an old Swiss Brand, having seen some antique Vidars for bid on Ebay. I'm not sure if the watches are still manufatuctured in Switzerland, but I can say that the Watch I received is very well made. I have several complements from people who have noticed the watch. I'm happy with my purchase.

On September 1st 2003, I have ordered a watch from SKW website. 3 months after, the watch has not been delivered.
Omega Speedmaster hand winding watch (ref. 3572.50.00)
SKW model: MOD. OM 410
SKW Price: $1879
Order type: Bank Wire
You confirmed on Sept 11, 2003 that the full amount had been transferred to your account Iban No: CH6404425097653702000. The BANK WIRE reference is: 00313245C020300
After 3 months of delay, you have not sent the watch.
You do not reply to Email, letters and your fax number is unaccurate.
Today, I am concerned with the reliability of your company.
Since early October, I did not get any reply to my latest Email expressing my desire to cancel this order and get my money back.
I feel that your company is not capable of handling my request. Thus, effective Nov 26, 2003, I have initiated legal action against SKW Company.

SKW model: MOD. OM 410

You confirmed on Sept 11, 2003 that the full amount had been transferred to your account Iban No: CH6404425097653702000. The BANK WIRE reference is: 00313245C020300
After 3 months of delay, I feel that your company is not capable of handling my request.
Today, I am concerned with the reliability of your company since I did not get any reply to my latest Email, expressing my desire to cancel this order and get my money back. At this stage, I may consider some legal action against SKW Company.

I purchased an "Auguste Reymonde" Timepiece from these thieves and when it ceased to keep accurate time...I e-mailed and e-mailed...again and again...and they DID NOT RESPOND...I actually spoke to one of the owners of August Reymonde...and he stated..."Quote un-quote"...These people sell "Illegally out of Swizerland"..THIS IS ILLEGAL!!! So anything you purchase from "SKW" is GREY MARKET and will be trteated as GREY MARKET..Visa-vie.... NO WARRANTY..Even if they state warranty!!! The man from "Auguste Reymonde" was kind enough to send me a BRAND NEW WATCH!!! DO NOT BUY FROM "SKW"..THEY ARE RIP-OFF ARTISTS!!!!

SKW charged my credit card and I never received my watch. Since the company is international, my US credit card company cannot contact them directly but only though their Swiss bank. Since the Swiss bank refuses to refund my money to my credit card company, my credit card company refuses to refund me.
SKW STOLE MY MONEY! DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU.

We do not know this customer. If a customer does not receive his watch, his bank will contact our bank in order to have a proof of shipment. We are a serious company and do not steal our clients. We are on the web since 1998. We kindly ask this person to contact us. Thank you

I am not using my real name, since I want no further contact with SKW. BUT I AM A REAL COSTUMER, otherwise why would I bother writing all these messages.
SKW never responded to my emails or faxes. My credit card company also tried to contact them, with no success.
Since its an international company, my credit card company says that US fraud protection rules do not apply. I was able to negotiate for a 50% credit from my credit card company. So I have still lost $350.

Why don't you give us some background on Watchdream.com. You remember them. SKW and TimeTotime.com are both spin offs of this now defunct web site. Why is it defunct? Because it scammed so many buyers and breached so many ethical standards of best practices that it had to close up. But it didn't really close up did it? It became two different "evil twins" called SKW and TimeToTime.
Not coincidentally, both still breach their own terms of sale, breach ethical standards of any kind and have no understanding of or obligation to deal with best practices.
Still want to keep calling yourself a "serious" company. BTW, Debbie Smith over at TimeToTime also likes using that term, "serious company" when trying to defend the complaints about her operation as well. Merchants with nothing to hide, hide nothing!

I've just bought an Auguste Reymond watch (US$1290.00) from WatchSeller. The watch was received in good shape yesterday. My purchase experience with the shop is quite good.

Just purchased (received today) my 5th watch from Ed at Watchseller.com The watches are in like new condition if not better. Watchseller is very reputable and I would have no hesitation recommending him or buying from him again.

I bought two beautiful Breitling watches from Ed Loebl, on two separate occasions earlier this year. The watches arrived in within 3 or 4 days. The prices were better than an other similar Breitlings I could find from other Dealers. I continue to monitor his site for other excellent deals.

I once asked for a quote on a specific watch by using the standard form on ToS. I recieved a friendly reply within a few days, but it didn't contain an answer on my simple inquiry. I replied, again pointing out what I wanted to know, but never got a reply. I then concluded that ToS wasn't worth it. After all, how do you deal with a company that doesn't want to reveal the prices of the products it's selling??
When asking Markus Tschopp for a quote on the same watch I recieved a reply within hours containing exactly what I wanted to know, no more, no less. I reckon Markus and Zeetan are among the best in this business.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this watch? And, does anyone know where I might be able to purchase this fine specimen? I live 40 minutes outside of NYC if that is of any help. Please email me if you have any info! alyerpal65@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance!

I had ordered and Eterna Modle 1948 from SKW and then read the negitive post about them on this forum. Having never ordered anything on-line from a company outside the US before I was sure I'd made a big mistake, and would never see the watch or my money again. I contacted SKW and explained that after reading the post here I no longer wanted to do business with them. As insulting as that must have been to them SKW was very understanding and cancled the order at once. To me this is not the type of conduct typical of a company that is out to steal your money. My experance with SKW would lead me to believe the negitive things written about them here are unfair and incorrect.

Picard Cadet is a defunct Swiss company that manufactured quality complicated watches. The watch you have is probably based on the ETA 7751 chronograph w/moonphase automatic movement. I probably have the same model, and the overall quality and workmanship is worthy of more recognized brands.

I ordered and paid for an Omega Constellation (no 1392.30.00), intended as a gift for my wife, from Time To Time (www.timetotime.com)in Switzerland on the 18:th September. Time To Time took the money from my AMEX even before they confirmed the order. I was informed that the watch would be sent with express delivery within three to four weeks. Since the watch did not arrive within four weeks I contacted Time To Time again and was informed that the watch would be shipped in the following week, and then the next week. Now nine weeks have passed since I placed the order and no watch has arrived, nor has any information concerning the reasons for the delay. Bearing in mind that the purchase of my own Omega Seamaster from Time To Time earlier this year was surrounded with the same delays, this is needless to say a bit disappointing.
I have tried to contact with several e-mail and fax. They don't answer. I have now contacted American Express and they are going to investigate this case.
Since the watch has been paid for, I feel that I'm at the very least are entitled to an explanation for the delay, and some reliable information concerning when it will arrive.

We have already informed Mr. Almstrom that Time to time is a competitor and we are not in touch with this company. We never received an order from him and never charged his credit card.

Dear Sirs
It is two diffrent companies, but it is run by the same persons. If you compare the two websites, you'll see that the brands, disclaimers, and just about everything else is identical. If I hade some more time to put on this I'm sure that if you go deeper in this by asking who the owner is they same persons will came up.
Yours Sincerely
Per Almström

I wanted to share the great experience I had with Silver Magic (www.smwatches.com). I was looking to buy an Eterna watch and found three on-line dealers that carried it: SKW, Silver Magic and I forgot the name of the last one, it was a UK-based site. After reading all the comments about SKW I was weary of buying from them, even though they had the lowest price of the three. I e-mailed them and what ensued was the strangest e-mail exchange ever. But that's a topic for a different story...
Back to Silver Magic. I have received the pricing on the watch by e-mail, but I still wasn't sure about buying that particular watch. There are no dealers of Eterna within 100 miles from where I live and I've never seen this watch up close. Since I have narrow wrists, I was greatly concerned about the size and I couldn't find the dimensions on Eterna's or any other web site. I have e-mailed Silver Magic with a question about size and, to my amazement, got a reply from Markus with all dimensions in couple hours. Markus also agreed to lower his price quite a bit to closer match the competitors. I ordered the watch and, though it took Eterna a bit longer than expected to deliver the watch to Markus, got the watch by UPS Express exactly as agreed. I received the tracking number by e-mail when the watch shipped. My credit card was not charged prematurely either.
I love the watch and I loved the little personal touch included with it (I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!). I would not hesitate to buy from Silver Magic again and I highly recommend them.

Purchased a Chronoswiss from Markus a few years back. Excellent price, quick response, item as described. He is excellent. I would also highly recommend Ed Loebl (The WATCHSELLER), while I am at it.

Three days after I ordered a Fortis B-42 Chrnograph watch through SKW I read the comments posted here. I was very concerned and nearly canceled my order. I e-mailed my concerns to SKW and they responded immediately. Since I already placed the order, I decided to wait and see. Within two weeks they delivered the watch. SKW timely responded to each and every e-mail I sent, they addressed my concerns, and ultimately delivered the watch I contracted for. And they are currently taking care of a band issue I have. I can say, without reservation, based upon my experience, SKW does not deserve the negative press they have received in this forum. For those who are interested, I am a deputy district attorney in Portland, Oregon.
