verenika and farmer's sausage

my mother cooked this up at my request.

cottage cheese is inside the boiled dumplings.

delicious with sour cream.

for dessert, verenika (it's a Russian dish) with cherries inside,
and a little sugar with the sour cream.

(cherries in a jar from eastern Europe.)

don't want dessert, bring more of those cottage cheese dumplings! and the sausage too. i remember farmer sausages used to be a big coil or stick. they make smaller ones now too?

yes this is the mini version of farmer's sausage.
my mom says they taste less salty.

I wonder if it's available in NL, since it's a Mennonite recipe
and that's where Mennonites came from.
(unless they picked it up on their travels.)

i would know if they have such a thing here hardly any Menonites in NL for some reason. they all 'escaped' to the lands of plenty.
