Oh geez! I was doing so well in resisting the organic ice cream bars that we have in the freezer and now this! Maybe I'll make some sort of cocktail with ice cream ... hmmm. It's still 75F outside at 9pm. I need it!

I have the oven on too which makes me a complete idiot. Making a cassava cake which is probably about 300 calories per square inch as it's coconut milk and condensed milk and loads of butter. My teeth hurt just thinking about it. I'm doing it to test a recipe for a party in August. I'll probably freeze it. Hmm .. I bet it'd be good served frozen ... or in August.

hahah......sorry!
i need one of those warm evenings like...now! i've put on a long sleeve shirt over a shirt, wool socks, and turned on a little radiator [the central heating radiator thingie doesn't want to work cos it's not 'cold' enough!]

yeah, you're crazy! you are making a heavy cake on a hot day. you sure have a sweet tooth, Saara! thanks for making my teeth hurt too...everytime i hear or read the words 'condense milk' my guts churn and my teeth squeak. and you know, i used to suck it out of the tin as a kid! how sick is that

there there...enjoy it now and exercise hard tomorrow...haha

Hah! I don't have a sweet tooth although I like to bake sweet things. It's not for me, it's for a party in August and I had the cassava roots lying around needing to be used. I haven't tasted it yet even! I will probably sample some tiny piece later today before I toss the whole mess into the freezer. The can of condensed milk was vintage. My aunt purchased it some time before she died in '98!

Keith loves sweets so I can make whatever I feel like and he'll eat them. Of course, he whines that I don't use enough sugar.

if the recipe calles for such and such amount of sugar i just use 1/3. i don't understand why everything is too damn sweet! i drink my tea and coffee dark, thick and strong

your Keith isn't the only man that has a sweeth tooth. i think he'd love the sweets of Portugals. i don't want to think about eating their notorious sweets yet.

Oh he would! It's actually handy since I can have a taste of whatever and then make him eat the rest.

He's always talked about wanting to visit Thailand, but gets a look of concern when he remembers that there aren't any pastries in SEA.

forget Thailand. trust me. i've been there twice! rather Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, Malaysia etc. even China [minus the respitory infections in suffered so terribly].

for sweets you must go to Portugal or Morocco...or any Arab countries. maybe he'd get so sick of sugar it'd cure his sweeth tooth after that

It almost got cured today!

We picked a bunch of strawberries on the way home from the boat yesterday so I made, as requested, pound cake. Today he's been eating nothing but poundcake with strawberreis and cream or cassava cake. I told him we needed to empty the fridge before we leave again for the weekend. He was feeling a bit ill, needless to say.
