i've had 2 kg so far. don't think i will eat any more this year. there are far better summer fruits.

my backyard blackbirds were happy to gobble down all the rotten ones. strawberries don't keep so well.

Wonderful! I had a pint very early, but they weren't very good. They should be producing full boar by now for the next few months.

I plan on buying a half flat for dessert (hopefully some cherries too!) for our 4th of July on the boat. Later I'll buy loads and make some more jam since it's lovely on yogurt. My own jam isn't so sweet!

Hmm ... I need to take off the month of August, I believe. We're nearly out of canned peaches, nectarines and apricots. I don't buy the crap from Chile so I have to stock up while we have our own Washington fruit available.

i love cherries and rock hard nectarines! no more strawberries for me. i'm going to eat as much blueberries and raspberries, and blackberries as i can this summer. these 3 reign supreme! not only they taste fantastic, but they're also super healthy fruits. i like to freeze some for the cold months to make a berry sauce for roasted/seared duck breasts.

nice. I tried photographing some (California) strawberries last week,
but the flaws (bruises) were more apparent in the photos.

We picked 7 lbs. of strawberries in about 15 minutes just yesterday on the way home. They're so ripe, half are purple. Quite delicious although raspberries off the bush are superior!
