yeah, just like that Madonna song from 1983

got 4 punnets [imported from Belgium] from the organic grocer. they also have red gooseberries [i think. instead of green it's rusty red.] but they aren't in a carton or something with a lid...i don't think they'd survive the bumpy bike ride home.

I had a few wild ones (smaller, tastier) in Whistler last week.

just got the giant-sized local ones at Safeway.

giant? how big exactly? these are small. my Sony and the perspective make them look much bigger than they really are. you can see the bottom of the berry...it looks like a crown. in reality the 'crown' is tiny!

i just grab a handful and eat them straight. too precious to cook or mash, puree, or destroy any other ways! destruction of precious summer fruits is a crime

Beautiful!

I've seen that some of the cultivated ones are getting ready. We should run up to Cascadian and get some soon. I can't wait for the wild ones! Hope to find them somewhere more convenient than the top of Sauk Mountain this season.
