She merely shook her head, chuckling as she settled back into the sofa, one arm propped up on the back of it as she drew her legs up onto the cushion. "You and Criss are more alike than I ever thought," she remarked.
Kade smirked. "It's better than being like Abigar any day."
"Very true. However, I was referring to your liking to response to outrageous accusations with ease and humor. How Criss responds to the goat rumor is almost exactly how you respond to anyone asking about your so-called dalliances. Many protests of 'he knows how to please a man' come to mind.." The slow, easy smirk on her lips matched the one on his.
He shrugged nonchalantly. "What can I say," he replied. "I can't just turn down good lovin'."
"That is all too apparent." Devilz Child leaned toward him, a soft, lingering peck falling onto his mouth. "You do not know when to say 'no'."
Kade laughed as she reached for her previously discarded book. "I'm not the only one, Princess. You and I are sitting here and reading these damn books for a reason, you know."
The demoness let an eyebrow rise, pausing in opening Immortal Children back up. "Now that is hardly my fault."
He smirked again, a wicked gleam set to his blue eyes. "If I remember properly, and I know I do, someone had resistance issues. She couldn't believe she felt anything at all, and tried to ignore it until it nearly ate her away."
Rolling dark eyes left his face and settled on the text in front of her. "Insufferable demon," she murmured just loud enough for him to hear, then let her voice rise to a normal level. "Regardless, I can say 'no' far easier than you."
"You can't ever say 'no' to me, and you know it," Kade stated with certainty, an arm snaking around her waist and tugging her closer, deeper into the warmth she was more than slightly addicted to.
Her chin tilted up as she took in that cocky smile of his. "Sounds like a challenge to me," she retorted. "I am positive you would give in to temptation well before I do."
Kade ducked his head down as he shifted some of the dark locks behind her shoulder, his lips now very close to her ear, his breath caressing the shell of it when he said, "Is that so?"
Briefly, her eyes closed, recalling another office, another time when a short sentence uttered in such a way had unleashed desires long held back. Her lips quirked up in one corner as she decided it would not be so easy for him to gain that reaction again.
Opening those dark orbs yet again, she maneuvered her upper body away in order to put distance between her neck and his teasing mouth. In doing so, she shifted her lower half away from his side as well, drawing her left leg up to cross over the right, the slit on her skirt falling open across her thigh. Leaning back and propping herself up with her right arm behind her hip, her face had ended up just in front of his, lips barely separated, and she noticed the slide of his eyes from her face to her left hand tracing the line of the skirt's slit along her leg. "Entirely so."
He had a time trying to tear his eyes from her distracting hand, but he managed. "And what makes you so confident you can out-tempt me?"
Her smile was purely sensual with a saucy hint of a challenge. "I am half succubus, beloved. You do not stand a chance against me."
"Oh, I don't know," he returned, one hand rising to the line of her waist, a finger trailing along the curve. "I have picked up a few things, seen what makes you tick. I think I have more than a chance of besting you."
She grinned, letting the tip of her tongue dart between her lips and briefly brush against his bottom one before pulling away and rising to saunter around the coffee table to return to the desk. A teasing look was tossed over her shoulder as she began to sort through the books there. "Then let the games begin."
