It's after the show. My jaw still hurts from those wicked rights Viper kept throwing at me. She never just meets me like a normal, well, there is nothing normal about vampires so what in the hell am I talking about!? It's chilly out here and the only light I have is the light shining down on me from the moon, which ironicly, happens to be full tonight.
As I glanced up at the moon, wondering what kind of other creatures were running wild on this particular evening I heard her voice.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Upon turning around as fast as my sore body allowed me to, there she stood dressed in a short black leather biker jacket with a Hot Topic "Metallica" belly shirt with a pair of faded jeans with random rips and tears going up and down the legs.
I groan slightly, shaking my head as she stands there smiling at me.
"So what's the deal with meeting on the roof of the arena? Can't we just meet at a diner or something?"
Rayven, in her "Kristen Stewart" mode/form, visibly let her guard down and went from standing in that slightly hunched over, arkward, position she was known by most to a standing upstraight and confidently as if she were some kind of ancient Queen who was lost in the wrong time era.
She grinned, letting her long razor sharp fangs extend past her lips.
"Discretion is everything. Don't you agree? Speaking of discretion, as I promised you, I will tell you the truth about what I am and what we are."
Raising my eyebrow I stopped her.
"We? So we're a couple now?"
She merely smiled and leaned against him, letting her head rest against his chest. Despite his verbal objection she knew that his thoughts verified his feelings for her. She couldn't blame him for being cautious. He was new to this mysterious world of creatures. He was learning as he went along. Apart of her felt guilty for having to drop so much information on him all at one time on this evening but a promise was a promise. In order for him to embrace the truth he needed to find out what it was.
As she laid her head on his chest, she listened to the rhythm of his heartbreak before finally breaking the brief silence, softly speaking to him.
"Most people refer to me as "Kristen Stewart" but the truth is that she is the mask I hide behind to blend in amongst the humans. You see, I am the kind of vampire you would refer to as a "shapeshifter." This particular form, of the girl you see before you, is a tribute to a young woman I knew ages ago. She and I grew up together during the medieval times. She was the one who was slaughtered by the same vampire who turned me. The village we were raised in was destroyed and all it's inhabitants slaughtered by an elder Lord who turned out to be the Alpha of the Bloodline of an Elder Vampire Clan known as the Alucards."
Not really knowing what to say, I embrace her.
"I'm so sorry."
She paused for a moment.
"I've made peace with my losses. After I discovered my abilities, particularly my ability to shape-shift I took the form of my friend as a sort of tribute, a way to always remember her. Everything you've seen and know of Kristen Stewart is of my creation. My theory was that by me using her form to help change the perspection of vampires in the human world I would be taking the tragedy of her murder and transforming it into something positive. I don't believe all vampires are as soulless killers as they are made to be because I am not a soulless killer. Vampires are just like humans and any other creatures. They have free will and choose their paths like any other being in existence. I have done everything in my power to educate those who are ignorant to creatures who are different from them, my specialty being vampires. In the understanding that the media is the best resource to use in influencing the minds of the humans I mastered the art of acting and took advantage of their fascination with vampires in today's society. It hasn't always been that way as I'm sure you know but there are others out there who belief what I belief. Working together we've finally come to a point where instead of being feared and hatred we're envied and idolized."
I couldn't help but chuckle as I held this petite ancient yet young appearing vampire close to me. She was one help of a Public Relations Master for the Vampires if there ever was one.
"You've and all the other vampires that support and work with you have outdone yourself. Not only has this "Twilight" thing made alot of people alot of money but it's actually done alot to add more intrigue and fascination to the vampire mythos. I think you're friend would be proud of you."
"Do you truly believe that?"
She looked up at me with those piercing red eyes. Looking down at her it was then I realized I had become quite fond of looking into them.
"I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it. I have a lot of respect for how you took lemons and made lemonade in that situation."
There was a brief pause before she finally responded with a nod.
"Yes. I understand. Even after all this time some of these human "sayings" still take alittle time for me to process."
"I do have one question, though. If this form of yours, that I see you in right now, is the form of your friend then what is YOUR form?"
She pulled herself away from me and lowered her head like a shy little school girl.
"Do you really wish to see it?"
I sighed and shrugged, noticing that it hurt just to breath in and out. I made a mental note to powerslam Viper on top of someone's car during that Street Fight coming up.
"What the hell, why not? I don't see how this get any weirder."
I swallowed hard the moment that came out of my mouth. I hoped she wasn't going to morph into something like the looked like the Toxic Crusader or Swamp Thing. Worse case senario she looked like one of those vampires from that "Dusk Till Dawn" flick or maybe have a jacked up looking forehead like "Angel." She might even "glitter" like Edward Cullen, afterall, she was leading the charge in the portrayal of vampires to the human world through these films that now have them loving vampires more than fearing them.
So she transforms, or morphs, shapeshifts, whatever.
Interestingly enough what stood before me was a very petite, dark haired, young woman. This must have been what she looked like before she was turned. Based on her facial features she is of asian descent.
"W-what do you think?" She asked me softly with uncertainty.
"Y-you're...you're...!!!"
Her eyes widened with dread or what I might say. I really shouldn't be an asshole like this and play with her emotions...but I did anyway. I acted as if I saw something hideous in front of me for a second then got serious again.
"You're pretty cute, actually. Why don't you just stay like this?"
She stood there with a shocked expression on her face. She wrapped her arms around herself and looked away.
"Enough of this."
I walked up to her and kissed her softly. Running my hands over her cheek I tipped her chin upwards so that she looked into my eyes.
"I think you're beautiful just the way you are. What you've done with this whole identity is brillant but I want to see the real you. Not that it matters what form you're in to me. This "thing" we have together..."
"Bond?"
"Yeah. Right. This "Bond" is pretty intense. One form or the other I know it's you. I just know. Thing is I want to get to know the real you on the inside. Let's forget about appearance for now."
I step forward and give her a strong hug despite the fact my ribs are killing me.
"I guess this means we are officially a disfunctional couple, eh?"
She looked up at me with fanged smile and for the hell of it I flashed my fangs back at her. Drug addicted writers couldn't make this kind of stuff up but it was happening to me.
Small droplets of rain began to fall as we kissed deeply and passionately. I didn't know how or why but I think we were just two messed up people that kind of completed each other. Yeah. Tom Cruise eat your heart out.
The rain came down harder and we kissed more passionately under somehow I found my way to her neck and sunk my fangs into her neck. That sweet blood of hers sent shockwaves up my spine as it supercharged all of senses. She moaned approvingly, pulling my head in closer so that I drank into her more deeply. The blood trickled down my mouth and chin and I was losing myself again. As I drank her it was like we had a conversation with thoughts telepathically. It was hard to describe.
In the midst of it all she whispered to me.
"I have so much more to share with you."
Finding the will to break away from indulging myself on her blood, I quickly responded.
"Give me all you got."
Pulling back just long enough to kiss me and taste her own blood on my mouth, she took my hand and lead me to the exit on the roof of the arena that lead back into the building. This was definitely going to be another one of those nights.
