Refinish??

Well, after that can of worms got opened, it begs the question for those of us with the "ugly" stocks of whether a refinish may be in order. Maybe there is some nicer beech grain hidden under that reddish, opaque stain. Might be a fun winter project. I guess it would pretty much kill the resale value unless it turned out very well. Probably would be best to look for a JM walnut stock, and keep the original just in case.
