Home of the Girandoni

In Haller, we learn that the first Girandoni's produced didn't stay in Vienna. Instead, they were shipped to Peterwardein a fort 541 km south of Vienna via the Danube. The Girandoni's were moved in preparation for the Girandoni's general deployment in the Ausso-Turk war 1787-1790. The major engagement where the Girandoni certainly was present would have been the Siege of Belgrade September 15 to October 8, 1789. Belgrade is only 60 km further south of Peterwardein. Another engagement where the Girandoni may have been present is the Battle of Focsani which was a few months earlier in July, 1789.
