Effective range of old H.M. Quackenbush guns?

I went to that auction in North Carolina a week or so ago. It was an interesting learning experience to see old brake barrels and the various latch systems they used.

I got to handle a trio of H.M. Quackenbush guns with "push-in" barrels. I got to wondering about how powerful these things are/were. And what their effective range was.
