Response to Effective range of old H.M. Quackenbush guns?

We had a gun auction some years back at a well known local house which usually handled furniture and other estate items. The grandson had inherited the business and thought this would be a good idea. Several area gun dealers participated as well as some from out of state. Most if not all of the items had no or a low starting bid. I sure wish I had the money to spare as most everything went way below blue book. Picked up a nice older .22 pump for $135. Needless to say, there has never been another such auction within miles of here. Hopefully, the auction house handling this sale knew their business.
