Early Fwb 300S

Hi,

I just thought you may be interested in an early 300S that I have. It is a mixture of 300 and 300S with a few peculiarities of it's own.

It has a beautiful 300 stock.

300S action but with a 300 (non sliding) trigger.

A slim barrel that has no sleeve or weight, (and never has had). It is also shorter than a 300 barrel, but longer than a 300S Junior.

It is all original as I bought it from the first owner.

It is my favourite Fwb (at the moment) and is a real pleasure to look at, hold and shoot.

Dfor.

Keith, Like Jim's below, another great transitional FWB.

I think that they were just frugal at model change time and used available parts. Years ago I thought they were aftermarket guns but it gradually became clear that they are factory made. I prefer the 300 stock for it's slimmer lines and I think the sleeveless guns are a great find . If one is serious about 10M you need a PCP, if one enjoys beautifully crafted older 10M guns you hit the jackpot!!!. It will shoot better than 99.8% of us and we get to enjoy it's walnut and bluing. I have a 150 T with no sleeve and love it's balance and weight.

I think you got a perfect combination in this one......GB

Thanks Gaines but,

a sleeveless 150T, you do make me a little envious. I've been looking for one for a while now. I did find a sleeved version but the carriers managed to crack the stock on it, and it was a bit rough to start with anyway, but I still like it.

Regards, Keith.
