He wrapped them like modern-day mummies in bubble-wrap, added extra padding where needed and fedX'd them the day I paid him. He even took the time to be sure they were all full of air and each had the probe and manual in a bag taped to the trigger guard.
I had no idea I could get so excited opening up an odd-ball Career 707 with a laminate target stock, or an AR6 with the same. These babies just about deserve a place on the mantle next to my favorite Daystate (Mirage XLR) and my new DAQ Exile laminate.
I can't believe the condition Don kept these in for a dozen years.
It wasn't an overnight deal, we both put some serious thought into it. Didn't let any emotions cloud up the situation. I like the fact there wasn't a need to rush into anything. When we decided to agree to agree, then the rush began. We both know it isn't ethical to make the other have to wait too long for their end of the deal, everything was expedited as it should. You just know when a deal goes good.
