Well, I went in to the movie knowing that they would not be able to reproduce the book exactly so I wasn't displeased. I think they captured the "look and feel" of the book very well. Had they tried to make a "serious" movie they would have missed it entirely. Remember, it is supposed to be randomly, humorous sprinkled with dry wit. I think they captured that in the movie.
