Is Rob Carney (sp?) not doing games anymore? I thought he was OK.
Regarding 'Homers', they are the worst. Anyone listen to Michael Ball? He is part of the call-in show after 'Rider games and he has to be the worst. I'm convinced that he is on the 'Riders payroll. Anyway, I won't get into that, back to hockey...
He also does the sports on 104.9 The Wolf and he is always adding in his own comments and opinions while reporting news from the sporting world, scores, etc.
Is it not his job to just report the news/scores? If he wants to add in his "editorial" comments, he should have his own show (which will never happen by the way - for those that know of him, can you imagine, "The Last Word with Michael Ball"; Nielson Rating 0%).
One example of a "Ballism" (which is how we have dubbed his opinions at the water cooler at work):
When the province of Alberta announced that they were having a lottery with the proceeds to be split 50/50 between the Flames and the Oilers, "Ballsy's" comment was "Why don't they just give 100% of the money to the Oilers and 0% to the Flames because the Flames are a horrible team and do not deserve any financial support" (not word for word, but you get the idea - gee, I wonder ig he is an Oilers fan?).
One more "Ballism" just for good luck:
When the Gilette deal for buying the Habs was finalized, Ballsy reported it on the radio noting that part of the agreement was that Gilette would not be able to move the team out of Montreal to which Ballsy added, "too bad"!
What a joke (jerk)!
Anyway, sorry for the ramble, but this guy has just been getting under my skin for too long and I thought it fit in nicely with the comment that Ace Jackson made that "Most of these guys are supposed to be journalists, but nowadays they come off as team-hired hacks."
Get back to what your job is guys and spare us your opinions.
BTW, Ballsy also does color and/or play-by-play for some Pats games, so it fits here as well.
