This was not 'anyone's game'. It was all bruins. 4-0. The Sedins looked absolutely terrible, floating about, I don't think I saw them even try to hit someone. This is where you say 'that isn't their role' well their role is not to lose every single puck battle and skate around terrified of being hit in a physical game seven either. Physical player or not, in game 7 of the stanley cup finals if you are losing puck battles because you're going out of your way to not hit the opposition then you frankly don't deserve to be on the ice. Gretzky and Kurri, who were notoriously not physical players as well certainly never played like that. They might never have run over people but they won their share of puck battles, because they were willing to at least throw a body check.
The canucks, on every one of their losses looked like absolute zombies. I have no doubt that a non-playoff team could have beat them the way they played on those nights. They exhibited no heart at all.
If Chara played like that, you bet people would be saying that he's a terrible captain. Had the Sedins actually did something in the finals then nobody would be on them like this. They were a couple of brutally over paid, over rated empty uniforms. Every one of the canuck's wins they squeaked by, just barely while the bruins blew the canucks doors off in their wins. The canucks were extraordinarily lucky to get to game seven. They were brutally out worked, and out scored the whole freaking series. The type of person who would think otherwise would have the sort of hockey knowledge that would lead them to think that the blades had a shot at the memorial cup. Oops, that is you.
