Yes you can say that Morrison is 43-21-2-5 (4 shutouts, 2.99 GAA, .900 sv%) but the actuality is that he's done it on a team that's had a pretty solid group ahead of him. For a comparison goalie, how about Dan Spence, (2006-09) who started between 2007 and 2008?
Spence 77-49-3-6 (12 shutouts, 2.49 GAA, .904 sv%) 2nd all star team - 2008
The point is that despite being a decent WHL goalie, Spence was released in his overage season and went unclaimed through the WHL, much like journeymen goalies Hayes and De Serres. Morrison might have come in with some pedigree (Team Canada radar, NHL-drafted) but the market for overage backups is pretty dry. Somebody might actually give a draft pick for him, but it's probably more likely he ends up in the O or the Q this season.
