Paul Kelly's group has harped on the NCAA rules being restrictive forever. He has contended over and over that the NCAA rules hold him back from being allowed to pursue players. But this new set of rules opens the door for him to go to the NCAA and claim there is no difference between the two leagues player treatment. I would be willing to be a number of people within the NCAA hockey establishment would happy to go fight that battle with the NCAA to open the talent doors.
I don't think it necessarily will need a court battle. The NCAA has to be seeing that the talent has really started to swing back in favour of the CHL again and they are getting a lot of players who leave commitments to go to the CHL. This would offer them a chance to recoup those personnel losses. They just kicked down the biggest so called barrier to the CHLers transfering to the NCAA.
