If you want to interpret several tigers being classy after losing to another great team as them saying that they shouldn't have won the WHL championship, well beat your chest then.
Simply put there should be no losers in the memorial cup tournament. The way the memorial cup has been decided has been evolving for a hundred years now. It will eventually evolve again and change. It may take an unworthy host (saskatoon) playing like 10 pounds of dogcrap in a 5 pound bag and making a mockery out of the whole thing to do it, but it will happen. But to have 3 championship teams, who have been fighting tooth and nail in 7 game series format all of a sudden go away from home ice and their home crowds to play in a round robin tournment makes no sense, at all. And then to let a club that did not run through that gauntlet come and play with them just because they have a rich owner is stupid. What a dumb way to contest a trophy of this magnitude. Obviously if you are going to have a team go in the back door, best case scenario is it's the team that not only lost in the finals, but a team that lost in a 7th game triple OT finals. But they still lost.
The simple fact is this. TKO can play the pepper carrot card and claim that MH only won because of injuries. But at the end of the day the tigers won the league championship. The tigers also did lose in the final game, but they lost 3-1, with an empty net goal. More than that figure in MH's victories against the giants in the tournament, the fact that they won the WHL championship, and the season series the simple, and obvious fact is that MH was just as good as vancouver that year, if not better.
