I remember that KLM line very well. Without a doubt one of the top lines

to ever hit the Ice. I also remember the disaster Krutov was that year in Vancouver since I lived there then and followed the Nucks closely. He was not just a bit out of shape and little bit heavy. He was the very definition of fat and out of shape.
There was also a lot of rumours about his love for Vodka. From what I know of gastrorrhagia (hemorrhage of the stomach) it may be due in a large part to heavy drinking. (From Web MD....alcohol, tobacco, certain foods, body position, and obesity contribute to this disease) That is not meant as knock on the guy as we all have our demons.
If I remember correctly, his nickname was THE TRAKTOR, as in he had the strength and drive of a tractor. Also, as a play on words, he might have played for that ignominious hockey team known as "TRAKTOR Chelyabinsk".
