In the case of Jamaica, many of their track stars have been "exercising" competitively since pre-school. From the age of 13, these Olympic athletes have been competing in their 4 day Jamaican High School Track Championships, CHAMPS in front of a packed 30,000 person stadium and practically every TV in Jamaica is tuned in to watch the event. This is their Memorial Cup and has been running since 1910. While Jamaica and Qatar became the 69th and 70th countries to join the Intl Ice Hockey Federation this year, don't expect hockey to replace track anytime soon in Jamaica.
