Cuthbert and DeRoose have been sent to Melville and Estevan respectively.
Cuthbert has been cleared for contact and practices a week in drills with the Warriors before being sent down. DeRoose has come along way they say. He his a big body and raw player that needs a year of junior. He could have returned to AAA Generals in MJ but junior was where he needed to play to try to get to the next level of development.
Interesting to see both players stick around as long as they did. DeRoose was a surprise really as a listed player. I didn't expect him to really stick as long as he did. He did improve but needs to get more physical and add strength. Hopefully he can have a good season and come back next year as an impact player.
Cuthbert, nice to just see him play with out any setbacks. He came to the Warriors and made the team as a 16 year old and was off to a decent start for a rookie. Then the injury bug hit and slowed him to a halt. I would think that if he goes to Melville and plays, stays healthy, he may return to the WArriors at some point this season. He has the ability and skill level to be an impact player for the Warriors now. It is a matter of getting some game action in and taking some hits. Can he rediscover his game? We will find out. For his sake I sure hope he does. Even if he has to wait a season before returning to the Warriors.
Tremblay outright released.... that was word around the rink on Sat morning. Sure enough it was true.
3 goalies 2 of them younger and with less baggage than th eolder one.... makes sense to me that they keep the lower maintenance kids.
Wish him well and hope he catches on somewhere this year. Still has talent and can play in the league.
