I was going to hit Abay early this morning but figured it would be pretty choppy. I waited for the wind to shift. I got there around noon. It was worth the wait. Five foot swell and glassy thanks to the offshore winds. It died suddently around 2:30. The water was pretty clean too.
It was bigger, cleaner and had more power today with slight offshore winds the entire time. Got there around 10am and it was starting to clean up nicely. Paddled straight out from the tip of the point and got way outside to taste some super glassy 8' set waves... did I say clean?? Had some rides from way outside to the beach. Incredible day and warm enough for just shorts with the sun out a good part of the day. I wish you could have seen those big pitching lefts. The Byrne was at her best. The word for the day... glassy.
The pic isn't as bad as some pics that have been taken in the past by newspapers on the inside. We have seen the ripple shots in the past to our self horror.
The photograph shows that outside was much bigger.
High overhead to Toronto from Hamilton and the vibe is still flowing. Tomorrow we surf head high on Lake Erie.
Rob, I'm still out at Niagara for the conference which ends Friday afternoon. Plus I have no board with me. So I guess Erie is out of the question for me.
