Thanks for posting that. I always thought that the salt in the ocean would kill bacteria, etc. Apparently not. As a side note I also learned that in Hawaii you have to be real careful about infections since the humidity leads to some real fast severe stuff.

Our local Jewel food store offers Hepititas B shots, etc. for not too much. I have no idea why, but it seems like a good idea before going out into spring rainflood surf.

I'm not nuts about inadvertently buying a camera made in China because I have never forgotton Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989 and now see Delphi the parts supplier for GM going bust and workers that have been getting paid $25 U.S. being made to take a pay cut to $10 U.S. an hour and pay their health benefits on top of that. Also a Chinese pro democracy proponent was beaten down last week into unconciousness by Chinese police and Army while a western reporter watched. Also last week I heard Charlie Rose ask the Chinese Premier about a man in China who spoke out on the internet against the Chinese government and was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in jail.

I have a conflict with something called free trade when their isn't freedom too. It won't be long before everything but surfboards comes out of China. Talk about crowds. There are over a billion people over there and they work for almost nothing. If I had known the camera was made in China I wouldn't have bought it.
