Just ordered "Unsalted" and "Surfing The Great Lakes". Would love to drive back for a p-wood session but if I did this every weekend I'd be broke (+ my wife would probably kill me). Looks to be good early Thursday up there. We should have some surf here in NJ (SW swell at 7ft, 223 degree, 8sec). Hopefully it wraps in off that angle. I know I have the ocean right here, but man you guys got a frontier up there that is so worth exploring. I felt like Lewis or Clark last weekend, and seeing the models continues to swell my interest in wanting to explore further. I think Selkirk State Park is next (closest to me). I haven't had that much fun surfing Canada since Newfoundland (see pic) last year.

The generosity of the locals too made it great. I had one couple offer me 4 slices of their pie from down the street from Pwood, another offered me a green tea from T. Hortons), and then a nice woman offered to take some pics of me. Nice people, Nice Vibe!

Anyone jonesin for a ocean trip this winter to my area let me know. I can only begin to offer the hospitality that the Fort Erie area locals showed me.

Pic 1: Newfoundland (last time I surfed Canada 9/04). I'd tell you exactly where it is, but would have to kill you first. Go look on the Avalon Peninsula south of St. John's.
Pic 2: Home break of me in NJ (awesome offshore big wave spot) Hard offshores nicely groom the sandbars. Best time of year for quality surf, although wetsuit technology is making it more crowded year-round. The cold keeps the attitude level down though.

Catch it early up there tomorrow-am off that W swell before it's blown out by the NW wind.

Ryan you are on the mark about tomorrow. Come back any time. Next time you have to get the bigger waves. Some of the places that people think have never been ridden here have seen a surfboard. But as Dan reminds us there are all sorts of odd places that work on the right day with the right wind if you are there.
