WOW! Great Pictures, Great Waves, Great Ridin! Telefoto or Zoom lens? Can you talk a bit about the lens and distance and maybe lens advice?

My sister took the Lake superior pics with her digital SLR with a zoom lens. It's the canon rebel (cheapest digital SLR, but works great).

Really nice shots-one of these days I need to explore and experience Lake S for myself, it looks and sounds fantastic
