Speaker suggestion for hamilton reel surf fest - EBR sessionNovember 11 2005 at 9:45 AM | Brendan Smith (no login) from IP address 216.221.75.227 |
| hey y'all,
you know how you wanted an environmental mover and shaker at this surf fest? How about calliing the Environment Comissioner's Office? They will come and tell people how to request environmental reviews under the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR) Gord Miller the commisioner is into great lakes issues, and thus may be persuaded himself to come based on the unique nature of the event.
Everybody should check out www.eco.on.ca anyway for information about the environmental bill of rights and how to use it if their environmental rights are being violated.

All contributions to this effort make work lighter for everybody. Thank You brother, I hope you can follow through on this terrific idea. The more Canadian surfers get involved in our campaign the better it will be for the cause to save surfing at The Bridge. |

Yeah I sent an email invitation to attend to his office with the flyer, I left a follow-up phone msg just now RE: speaking at it.
I've also invited members of the board of directors of POWER to attend, (protect our water and earth resources) the group that prevented the toronto garbage from entering our landfill here in halton hills. Even if mr. miller is indisposed, his office has a mandate to educate citizens about the environmental bill of rights which they fufill by visiting groups like ours. At the least we will get a short workshop on the EBR and how to use it.

Shiver me timbers we have invited guests that may come aboard. We salute you and raise a glass of Madeira to you. It's really a Lake Port Ale. |
