Good on ya for putting that in a lot of people dont realize the airlines can punish you for boards...Im going to costa rica and I looked on the skyservice website they want 100 bucks canadian/board, criminal...
In my experience I always go up to someone young at the counter and if they are unwilling to help me out then I ask for the manager. I've yet to have to pay except in Indo where I didnt really want to argue its skecky as anway. The manager and the person at the counter will usually have the discretion and with a smile and the right additude you should never have to pay...On a side note I got northwest airlines to waive the charges on a flight from jacksonville to buffalo, they wanted to charge me 80 us for the board when the flight only cost 70 but when I got to buffalo my tail was snapped. The problem is the reason the extra charge is imposed is due to weight restrictions, yet a smaller shortboard weighs a couple kilos if that, so thats usually the angle I use...something to think about when travelling anyway |

American Airlines charged me $80 american coming home from Costa Rica. I only had one board so i don't know if that was per board or not. They were pretty strict, but i'm not great at talking my way out of things. |
