The Eastern Surfing Association Great Lakes District hereby recognizes and thanks Stoney Creek, Ontario surfer Frank Kunkel for attending all the Hamilton Port Authority Fisherman's Pier Marina meetings this year and ceaselessly representing competitive and non competitive surfers in preserving the historic The Bridge surf break.
It was Frank Kunkel whose level headedness and calm tone that made a significant difference in these many meetings. He asked the right questions and said all the right things.
He was representing the Wyldewood Surf Club specifically but he also represented indirectly The Bridge Crew, the ESA Great Lakes District, and Great Lakes surfers in general.
He attended every single meeting and his presence made a huge difference. It is my opinion that Frank Kunkel's efforts behind the scenes at these meetings helped save a Great Lakes surf break.
Kunkel walked the walk and talked the surfer talk.
It gives us enormous pleasure that the Canadian Great Lakes Legend Frank Kunkel will receive a one year subscription in 2006 to The Surfers Path Magazine coutesy of the ESA Great Lakes District.

Thanks, I did what I could for the "Team". It just worked out this time. I thought it was funny when the stenogragher said..."Boy do you have a poker face, we didn't know what you were thinking until you spoke"...been meaning to join the ESA.
Right now no slush. Small bits of ice on hard frozen sand. Waves disorganized still chest to head high. Better wind as the day goes onward and I think better by tomorrow.
I got up at dawn and found myself on the walking disabled list. You know how things go after accidents. The effects of the injury become more apparent after the adrenilin wears off.
