The 2005 competition season.December 22 2005 at 10:02 PM | Magilla Schaus ESA Great Lakes District C.D. (no login) from IP address 69.162.202.86 |
| To all competitors I need this post checked by you for any mistake. Help me get this right. There was a mix up at one of the contests where I got several competitors mixed up in the wrong division. I believe that this listing is correct.
It is of utmost importance that any errors in this posting be brought to my attention for correction and for ordering trophy plates.
Anybody on this list who did not get a trophy will get one. I have decided to reverse my decision to only award first place torphies in a couple of contests.
OK let me know how many trophies you are missing and if these 2005 contest results have any errors.

Help me out here fellows and please answer this question. Are there other Best Wave torphies that have been awarded in the other three contests? I just want to make sure that everyone gets the proper trophy plates and recogonition they deserve.
Note I devided the competition points in the Mens division because of the TIE at the Howling Into The Wind Surf Contest.
Please eyeball these statistics for any error before I call our trophy supplier in Port Colborne and tell him to engrave the plates for your trophies. Thanks,

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE CONTESTANTS:
Good Job! I for one am very impressed.
Way to go Team! I have loved listening to all the awesome stories and looking at the pictures and it's been a great season.
Congratulations to Magilla for all his hard work in putting these contests together, and gosh there was some fun stuff... Love that turkey toss!
however...
Some people seem to spend more time in airports
than they do in waves...
Well as I was bobbing up and down in Toronto Harbour last night...
having waves break over me was about the closest I got to surfing this season.
Seemed every weekend Magilla ran a contest I was working, and finally the last one... well it was kinda like a movie with John Candy or something, I was at the airport.
So just in case some folks think I wussed out of surfing this season... let me tell you this about that... it was 36 degrees in the water last night and I was on a night dive in Lake Ontario.
At 30 feeet all you can see is the thin beam of light from your flash light and the rest is inky black, all you can hear are the bubbles of your breathing and all you can feel is the weighlessness of water and the numbing cold nibbling at your consciousness as neoprene and water fight for your boby heat.
I'll probably get out body boarding in January just to prove the point - but not if I'm out ice diving instead.
Sorry I missed the line up! Maybe next year

My partner at work is in Italy visiting his family there. The day of the last contest I couldn't remember if he told me if he was flying in to Pearson. So my wife covered for me and waited and waited and waited and checked the flights for three hours while I was running the comp.
Thank You Christine for your support and help that you provide me in running our contests.
Christine is a hard core water person. She dives all seasons and every month throughout the year in the lakes.
Back to the subject for competitors.
This posting is primarily and specifically designed for the checking over and reply by those competitors who participated in the Eastern Surfing Association Great Lakes District (east) contests. Thank You

Hey I still have a black 'n' gold trophy from the "howling..." contest. I don't NEED one b/c I'm in the "typically untrophied masters division" so if you're shy a trophy for the young chargers let me know and you can 'ave this un.
Mahalo Beaucoup,

Everyone will get their plates this month. Those that I owe other trophies for the plates will have to make arrangements to get them. |

Each plate has your name on it. I have trophies for all places for those who did not receive a trophy at the time of the particular contest.
I will be distrubuting these over time through various get togethers and such. |
