Watching an early Bruce Brown film here late at night on Fuel TV. The film is called, "Surfing Hollow Days." Lots of longboarding footage of the old days makes me want to be back in the water.

Got new gloves and wetsuit socks and the suit is stiched up. Waiting for Furminger to finish the patching up. Monday I surf.

Forcast SW 15-25 m.p.h. If nobody shows up but me I have all the waves to myself and a soul session with the elements and my imagination. Surfing by myself on this warmer winter days in Lake Erie reminds me of the old days riding without a leash and on a big board.

Well I must be jinxed big time.

The waves were coming over the break wall in Buffalo today as I went to the hospital to visit a close relative having emergency surgery. Sometimes family takes precedence over the waves. I'm surfed starved but stonger for being there when the chips are down. I shall be rewarded for this by some big day in the lakes or ocean with off shore winds and friends hooting.

I read this story about two months ago by Dave Parmenter in The Surfer's Journal about this oncologist who surfs in Alaska. That article helped me a great deal in the last few weeks.

God bless Rell Sunn.
