Surf Today

January 17 2006, 10:11 AM

A Bay is easy 4ft+ with a bit of chop. Ridable? Yes. I would head to Bluffers if I was going out today. ENJOY!!! Send pics to the workers who couldn't sneak out of the office.

January 17 2006, 10:30 AM

Yup, for sure send some pics! I would love to see what I'm missing out on! I know I'm a real novice compared to you guys, but I would love to make it down there to get out with some of you. Had a blast the first time I went when some of you were up my way. Unfortunately I'm stuck up in Kincardine at work and cant get out of it! One of these days I'll make it!

Went out today to check out Bluffers and met up with one guy who went in for a while.

Took some pics but a few are blurry. Waves were pretty heavy. I think I saw one that barreled :O

Ty. I don't blame you on the short session. Man it was cold today. So much for 3 degrees like they forecasted. Here are some shots from a not so secret place. Brian Kerrigan from the Globe sent me these from today:

bluffers

January 17 2006, 11:29 PM

That's the first time I surfed there, I'm sure it's nicer in the summer though! I took a longboard and still got schooled, no mobility with a base layer under the 654. Nice and warm by the sewer though.
Dented the rail but oh so fun and the bluffs are great scenery.

January? Climate change is real.

Magilla,

There is a ferry that you can take over to the island. But then it is a bit of a hall, especailly with the tank...(OOOPS) I mean "Long Board" that you ride. You could probably catch a good gust and just glide over to the spot.

Kong is bigger and aerodynamicly shaped to fit under the plane like a fuel drop tank.

January 18 2006, 6:10 PM

Kong is no longer 11 feet long. I had Furminger put two more feet on it. We redesigned it with brackets to attach the board under the aircraft like a drop tank. Also the back extra foot has a jet pump installed on it to give me more assist going out to islands in the lake. The front extra foot has small storage for a camera. On the nose there is strapping to tie down a wetsuit.

We are going to break a bottle of Dom over her before we rechisten the board Kong the wooly Yeti of the lakes. I probably now have the longest surfboard on the lakes. In fact the board also has a panal on the aft section that sticks out a half foot more for tail gating.

Kong unchained!
