They were selling those Realm boards here at the Costco near me last summer. They had 7'8"s and 9'0"s. If I remember correctly, I wanna say they went for $400 (pretax).
In Hawaii they would probably go for a little more because it's Hawaii. They looked decent, just had them propped up and bubblewrapped near the rest of their annual beach equipment. Not sure the glass thickness and dimensions because they were covered by the bubblewrap.
If you plan on picking up a board out there on Oahu, go to the North Shore during the offseason (if you're there then?) I've picked up a 7'9" gun (owned by Stryder Wasleuski) for $180, and a 9'0" gun for $140 in Haliewa. I still own both and pull'em out maybe once a year (rarely do you need that size here in NJ).
But just like Johnny Utah and that 50 year swell, when that CAT 5 eventually does park itself off Hatteras someday, I can say I won't be undergunned. (Did I just quote Point Break?, sad)
You would get better value for buying a used board then one at Costco out there if that's your intention. You can bargain a little with the owners, who are looking to unload their used inventory.
The reason I asked is I am offered one with leash ,used like new for $300. I was searching for prices and only came up with a general quote of $199, I was thinking that was a short board price. I have another regular board lined up for $250. Getting one for my wife and I. My regular shop, Classic doesn't have much in used right now. I'll be there tomorrow in season, hoping to see and tape some Monster Pro at the Pipe. Thanks.
I slurged on a 10' Jammin from a school going out of business. I'll probably buy the Realm 9' for my wife, its very nice and 3 1/4 thick. Leaving soon...
