Got in the water at 3pm. Air temp....64 degrees, sunny, winds blowing west (offshore). Waves consistent chest and built throughout the session. Strong south to north current.

By about 4pm, head high sets were consistently coming in and throwing off the jetties as the tide got lower and lower. Some of these sets were sucking up so hard off the sandbar at the end of the jetties that the waterlevel sunk as the barrels threw out far off the takeoff. Consistent battle fighting the current to stay in position but oh so worth it.

Out of the water at 5:30pm, exhausted. Air temp reading 61 degrees. Changed right out of my wetsuit at the beach, and it's February? Wish I had some pics. One other guy out with me, but with the strong current, it was like being out alone.

As with the lakes, this is the best time of year to be surfing here along the Atlantic in NJ or elsewhere (no guards, no crowds, no restrictions on where to surf, no problem).

Should have waves all weekend here. Maybe a Sodus Point Lake Ontario session next weekend hopefully during my Finger Lakes getaway. Hope you guys score up there this weekend.
