I'm going to be in the Muskegon area three times this coming month and a half. I was wondering, is there a group of surfers that go out at any particular peer where I could meet up and surf with? I have attempted surfing on a few beaches in North Muskegon, but I have been unsuccessful. I don't quite understand how and where to surf in fresh water. I have only surfed decently in Florida. Any help would be great.

Head down to Ashbridges Bay right now and you'll find some pumping surf.
We were in the water this morning at 6:15 am and it was only 2-4' but building.
It's gusting to NE 63 right now. Probably get some clean 5-6' rolling in.

I wish i could, but i am land locked with work and what not right now, outside of Detroit.

How is the water, I only have a spring wetsuit that doesn't cover up my legs. Would that hack it? Would you recomend booties, gloves, etc. for this time of year?
