Just checked the forcast at theweathernetwork.ca and Kincardine tonight is getting NW 20km/h winds and morning with N 10km/h. last weekend kincardine pier was going off with NW winds at around 25 to 30 km/h winds. i know thats on-shore but the waves last Sunday at the pier were shoulder to head heigh with the NW winds. so lets hope it fires back up. also i posted a cam of the Kincardine pier, the message title is "Kincardine pier" i posted it today so you should be able to find it and check to see if we get waves tommorow!

Lets hope for surf!

The campground at Inverhuron is the "go-to" spot for our crew, especially in the fall. There's a great beach and point break at the campground, and the drive to Kincardine pier is a scenic 15 mins.

Kincardine P-break

May 31 2006, 4:55 PM

Allan,

How are things up north ? I'm from Sarnia and normally only go as far up the coast as Ipperwash.

On the May 24 weekend I decided to check out Kincardine and Inverhuron; the place looked good, but I got there alittle to late to surf (stopped at Bayfield to surf with a group there).

How is it for rocks along that shoreline at gun and by the cottages ?

What sort of wave size do you need for the area ?

Hopefully see you guys out some time !

Thanks,
Greg

Hey Greg

The break at Inverhuron typically works best in the Fall - you need sustained NW winds, cooler air temps, etc. When it works, the beach break is super fun. The point break is juicy, although I'd only recommend intermediate and above surfers attempt the rocky launch. Fellow Lakesurfer Bill U has some great images of this spot in his database - either way, this location is a little tropical paradise, and offers another alternative to the Kincardine Pier on a big burleigh day. The camping on site is nice bonus.

Have a good weekend.
