my friend lake simcoe goes off in the fall nice clean and blue water. the best place to surf if i'm concerned in the fall months. great waves reminds me of surfing portugal so much! (good size waves and cold water)

P.S you have to surf Simcoe at least once in the fall months great place!

could be

its a big lake, more than 30 km wide W to E and N to S, on a windy day it could be enough fetch to produce waves, kinda like lake st clair . . .

comparing it to Portugal could be a strech (unless you arent refering to the actual waves)

HA HA HA!!

If you believe this guy you've never been to Simcoe before.

I grew up on Simcoe. Yes it does get waves sometimes, but they are blown out with zero period. I have heard of some 'secret' bank near Jackson's point that gets waves, but after 20 years of living on a lake, swimming in it and biking around it, I am confident it would be good for nothing more that kiting or windsurfing.
Plus from June until October most of the beaches are posted due to high e coli counts. Most of the land around the lake is farms.

I don't want to sound negative, but wouldn't want anyone to spend the time and gas to drive there trying to find waves!

Jon

Simcoe

sorry i was typing fast had to go out for a second and i read my post and it's not to clear.

The waves in Simcoe are similar to smaller days in Portugal I DON"T MEAN the swell is the same very, very different in so many ways!!!! what i'm saying is the spot i surfed in Simcoe, the wave breaks very similar to Sagres in Portugal.

The Ocean is SO different just the way the wave breaks reminded me of a spot in Portugal.

Yes maybe i don't surf Simcoe a lot considering i surf Kincardine most of the fall months but i got lucky going to Simcoe and scored some fun waves.

I wasn't sure about the water quality in Simcoe, figuring lake O is going to be a big pile of stink soon I thought Simcoe might be a cleaner alternative that's not too far away..but I guess with all of the farms around it's not worth it.

Now that the Great Lakes are 'legit', Simcoe surfers could be the NEXT surfing underground...
