Eastern L.O.

Looks like sustained WNW to NW winds tomorrow (Saturday) for the southeastern corner of Lake Ontario. Have the day to explore. Marine forecast calls for strong to moderate Northwesterlies with seas averaging 4-6ft. How this translates to surf I don't know and I'm sick of sitting down here in NJ trying to assume it everytime the winds blow. If anyone is interested in possibly meeting up from say the Sodus Point area, east to the Selkirk area, let me know. It's about 6 hrs from here, so I'll be leaving 2-3am to maximize the day. My cell is 908-433-9144, my email above. Probably bringing an oldschool longboard and a fun shape, maybe throw a fish in but doubt I'll use it.

There will be surf here today, and dropping tomorrow. Time to escape the weekend crowds and find some solitude on the lake. Looking to surf and explore as many rideable spots as possible. My curiousity is getting the worst of me.

Hey Ryan, I know a guy that used to live in Kingston and he told me about an amazing spot on the East end of Lake Ontario on the american side. He said it was the best lake wave he's ever seen. I never got to see it and dont know what conditions its best in. I've lost touch with him now so Im not much more help than that. But just thought Id let you know that there is definately a spot out there that would make exploring worth while.

I might be up for it.

The best possibility for waves this weekend seems to be from Rochester eastward so I was thinking of heading up to Sodus Point.

I'm wondering if the spot you're talking about is up in the bay east of the Oswego nuclear plant. I've heard that nice waves wrap into there.

The current wave models show decreasing size through the day but that was a model run at midnight. The current wind forecast is stronger than yesterday's so the wave model should change when it gets updated later today.

Want to hook up at Sodus Point between 9 and 10? My cell# is 716-238-5016.

Water temps are 55-60 so 3/2 probably required. Air temps dropping into the 40's tonight so a hood may still be needed early.

A Touch of Green

some green showing up here and there on the GFCLS model. Probably aim for Sodus/Chimney Bluffs and explore east around Oswego to Dempster and around Selkirk, although the state parks said they don't allow surfing.
