Very small

July 2 2006, 12:32 PM

Small waves and green water near the pier. Surfed from 8:30am to 12pm but didn't catch anything spectacular. Waves would have been more rideable by the pier but the water was way too green. Erie looks to be going off!

That makes me feel a little better. I've been sitting here cursing myself for not heading down there.

At least you got in the water! Is it trunk temperature yet?

3/2 and I got a bit cold waiting between sets. I am going to Cobourg later this afternoon maybe I will have better luck there.

Just returned from a triathalon at Evangola park south of Buffalo. Swim was cancelled due to great surf! I would say 4-5 footers were lurkin with some long rides to the north end of the beach where the bluffs start. Lifeguards were not on duty as the swimmers were not having it, also although tech. forbidden the guards here go off duty around 5pm and I have surfed dozens of times here in the evening without trouble from the man. Looked like a few prominent spaces where the water was heading back out allowing for a rel easy paddle out. Heading back down there later this afternoon. Aloha.

Went back from 4:30-7 in Oshawa for a paddle, the wind had switched NW and the lake was flat. Port Colborne buoy reached 7.2 ft today, with the wind only around 23 knots!

Darlington Park

July 3 2006, 10:37 AM

Same here for yesterday....went out to Darlington provincial park at 11am til 1pm...most of good sets were coming in every 30-45seconds with about a couple decent 3-5 footers at times...really difficult to catch one due to it being really mushy...and i wont mention all the algea that was onshore......
