Good to see a half decent day, and so many people out. Some great rides to be had if you could paddle your ass off. Quite choppy. No complaints though, it was pretty big surf for an hour or two in the early afternoon. Not sure of your names, but thanks alot for the wendy's. If I see you out again, I will buy next time. It gave me the energy to last a couple of more hours. Hope everyone enjoyed.

It was fun surfing the bridge today for my first time. Here's a video of someone I shot, not sure of his name:

The surfer

July 23 2006, 9:29 AM

Adam,

The waves were easy stomach to chest high on the sets. I think that wave I was catching in to switch my board. I can't believe that you and Garrett were out at the bridge and we didn't see each other. Me, Bill, and Vlad surfed over towards the jetty from noon till 3:30ish.
Sorry we didn't surf together.

I humbly retract my statement about the surfer being me.

grand bend

July 23 2006, 9:51 AM

I was at grand bend at the south end of the Pinery and had some great waves, some better than head high. The outer sand bars were breaking very steeply, making for some challenging surfing and many good thrashings. Also a strong cross-shore current gave me a good workout.

Hey Rob, good to see you out at the bridge. Doesn't suprise me that I didn't see you. There was actually a line up, rather than the 2-3 people I end up surfing with at the bridge. I was there from about 9am to 3pm. It was a little cleaner in the morning, and a lot easier to paddle out to the bigger stuff. However, it definitely got bigger by early afternoon.
Hope you enjoyed, I still haven't surfed ashbridges yet, so hopefully I make it up there sometime.

Hard to tell

I'm a goofy foot too. That looks like my quiksilver wetsuit and the ride was similar to one I had. But hey if you want to take credit for that one then it's all yours!!!

No, I had the 5'10" Action twin. That was a nice board he had. I was surfing next to that guy most of the afternoon. He pulled the T&C out just as I was leaving. He is one of Marstons friends but I'm not sure what his name is.

That's me. I have a real love hate relationship with that fish, and I am just starting to figure out how, and where it works best. During a session this spring at rock creek I started out with it and couldn't make it work. I swithched to my regular shortboard and it seemed so much better. But on saturday at the bridge my shortboard was useless, so I pulled out the that fish and it made my day, even as the waves crapped out! I tried a few things and now I love it again, so we'll see. Maybe it'll get a workout again tonight if things shape up.

John, what size it that board? Looks like a fun one for the mushyness we had Saturday.

Its a 6'1"x20"x2 5/8". Ya, it seemed to work well on Saturday, once I got back over the tail more it seemed more willing to do what I wanted it to do. I am used to being able to drive and turn more off of my front foot, and this board likes to be surfed more off the back. So, I am hoping to get out tomorrow and try it again, and see what happens, otherwise might think about getting rid or it.

I'm looking to retire the Action so how much would you want for the T&C? My board is getting old and slow so I need a quick upgrade. Let me know if you want to talk board swap or sale. radobias@hotmail.com
