Silent Sports is sponsoring our next ESA contest. At Magilla's request I will be judging the event along with some help from a few other surfers. This event will be open to ALL surfers. There is a $5.00 entry fee for active ESA members and $10.00 for non-members. Depeding on the amount of surfers who register for the event (hopefully many of you) we will have several different heats.
This event is for ALL levels of surfers so please come and show your stuff. Silent Sports www.silentsports.com/store/ has donated the following prizes to be handed out at the event. The event will more than likely be held at the Lighthouse point at Bluffers Park. If the contest is moved to Erie I will let you all know. Site location will be posted on www.originsurf.ca and here by 8:00 AM Saturday.
To register email me at radobias_2000@yahoo.com Please let me know what catagory you fall into.

Probably around 2. However, it looks like the winds are going to be too much to the West for TO. If there is any S in it then the contest will go, as of now the forecast does not look too promising.
I was unable to get a hold of the gear needed to hold the contest. Without Magilla's assistance I will be unable to run a full contest. Keep fingers crossed for next weekend!

My apologies to competitors and thanks Rob for trying.

My wife and I got back from Philadelphia late yesterday afternoon and I am not in any sort of condition right now to be able to assist in running a surf contest. Man were the winds gusting last night. It snatched my ball cap off my head and one gust moved the house here in Buffalo.
It was quite an eye opener for my first one eyed driving experience last evening. I drove the rental car from the airport parking lot to the rental car lot on the other side of Genesee street in Cheeektovegas in the suburbs of Buffalo. Talk about having to use ones senses to the max. I haven't gotten fully comfortable with driving yet. I am good with driving in familiar home turf, but a solo drive to Toronto on the QEW would be pushing it for this one eyed jackeroo.
I tried to drimk a beer last night and sipped it and put it sraight down. It made me feel sick. Also my attempt to stop the pain medication was a little hasty.
So I aplogise to those surfers who were looking forward to competiting in this event today and to our sponsors but due to circumstances beyond our control it will be a free surfing day.
Man there are some bright colors on NOAA this weekend. This should bring the smiles out from gale force wave production.
Rob kudos for trying to run this event.
Yesterday we passed an older car with surfboards stacked on the rooftop heading southward on the I-81 between Syracuse and Cortland, New York. One eye still can spot um. I'm sure of what I saw.

No worries Rob, thanks for trying. I couldn't have made it anyways. Was at the supercross all day. Highly recommend checking it out sometime, even if you don't ride, which i don't - it is an unbelievable show.
