My sister reminded me how in my family it is a self reliant tradition to give supportively and charitably but to find it difficult to accept a gift from others. Lucas and Spielburg backed some of Kurosawas films because Akira inspired them.

The Jedi fight that had me rolling in the isles was when the master Yoda fought. I am still laughing at the images of that scene that remain in my consciousness.

David have you ever rented Kurasowa's 1952 film "Ikiru" (translation) "To Live?" It has no light sabres, pistols, or swords in it but it's a fantastic movie.


A friend of mine in California who is in the healing business through writing was visiting this weekend Jack London's ranch in Glen Ellen, California.


Jack London said,

"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark burn out in a blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong then, I shall use my time."
