There will not be an ESA Great Lakes District-East Lakes Surf Contest on either 15-16 September 2007
The waves were small at dusk at Area 51 when the front came through. The wind has switched to NW. The wind is in the wrong direction this weekend for surfing or surf competitions in this area of the lakes.
The wind right now is weak at best on eastern Lake Erie. Tomorrow the direction more of the same weak wind from the NW. Sunday looks no better.
The ESA Easterns start for me next week. I have an ESA Directors meeting in Avon, N.C. next Saturday the 22nd. The ESA Eastern Championship Surf Contest runs from 23-29 September 2007.
Therefore our first 2007 ESA Great Lakes District-East Lakes surf contest has been moved back to the month of October 2007.
The dates for our surf contest in October are:

Sunday 7 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
Saturday 13 October 2007
Sunday 14 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
Saturday 20 October 2007
Saturday 21 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
Saturday 27 October 2007
Sunday 28 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
If the surf comes up four weekends in a row we will have four contests in a row.
Check this forum and the Origin forum after 11:45 p.m. on Friday 5 October 2007 to check if we are moving forward with a surf contest the following day.
