The dates for our ESA Great Lakes District surf contests in October are:
Saturday 13 October 2007
Sunday 14 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
Saturday 20 October 2007
Saturday 21 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
Saturday 27 October 2007
Sunday 28 October 2007 (In case of postponement)
If the surf comes up three weekends in a row we will have four contests in a row.
The locations and times for the contests will be announced the evening before the events at 11:45 p.m. on this web site.

The ESA Great Lakes District-East "Aborgedden Surf Contest"

One year ago tomorrow WNY and Fort Erie, Canada were hit by the freakiest storm in memory. Trees, tree limbs, telephone and electric wires were down everywhere.
The surf went off head high and bigger on sets at Wyldewood last year on Saturday. It was as good as I have ever seen it with the exception after a glass off. The competition site has not be decided yet but it will be somewhere from Wyldewood to the Palmwood.
In memory of that natural disaster last year we do hereby name the Saturday ESA Great Lakes District-East competition the "Aborgedden Surf Contest 2007."
At noon today on wivb tv in Buffalo the forecast for Saturday is calling for SW 20-30 mph.
This contest might be able to be held in the afternoon.

Wind west 15 knots increasing to 20 Saturday morning. Isolated showers. Waves 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 Saturday morning.
