Thanks G. I'm on the gas rationing diet for the doctor tour this week,

June 10 2008, 11:47 PM

I should have gone. It was for sure LB-able. This months issue of Surfing Magazine showed up this p.m. with this small article about Woodbridge "Woody" Brown titled, "Woody Would (1912-2008)."

"Woody Would...Surf all day long, literally. When he got hungry he would eat seaweed off the bottom. When it got dark, he would go in. Yeah."

"Woody Would... Probably be appalled that you're sitting around reading about some dead guy right now. Waves are breaking, life is calling- Woody Would Go.- Stuart Cornuelle"

I stand accused of failing as a surfer. I hate when I have to spend my time doing the doctor tour. I have so many of them in the suburbs that now I have to be careful how I use my gas. I'm still under observation by my oncologist. I'm getting set up for getting tubed inside. I call the MRI scan getting tubed but it really sounds like your listening to Japanese music while magnets peer into the depths of my cranium and face.

Wait till gas hits $5 or even $6 U.S. a gallon later this summer. Traveling surfers are going to have to do more car pooling or make soem tough decisions to go or not to go.

George you shouldn't complain you had the place virtually to yourself. It won't be like that as we get in to full blown summer.

I don't remember an early June with hot temperatures like those we have been having. I wonder if it will be extremely hot and dry in July and August or cool and rainy. I haven't heard the advanced forecasts yet for the rest of summer from the U.S. weather service.

Eastern Lake Erie is now at 60 degrees.

One thing is for sure Woody Would have gone to Erie today but he wouldn't eat the algea.

nice shots

Great shots George.

with Erie being so shallow, I'm not surprised you were trunking it up there. With 90 degree days, it doesn't take long for a body of water that shallow to warm up. Have to agree with Magilla, gas is a bitch right now. As expensive as it is around us, they pay a heck of lot more in Europe. Venezuela is probably laughing at us right now. Would love to get up a surf up there late summer early fall, but I'm not counting on it with gas, unless I can get 2 or so guys to come along and chip in. But such last minute trips that's kind of hard to do.

Ryan

The train from Grand Central runs to downtown Buffalo twice a day.

We might have to start keeping boards stored around the country and take the train and then rent a car and pick up locally stored board and head to beach.

I have room in the basement for a couple of banked boards.
