I will spend the time necessary this week to rank every competitor in their various age divisions and post them here, on the ESA GL site and SurfDaLake.com. Just because you may not have made the final in the Open events, you may have still won your particular age division, as having the highest place in your age group. So Check back later in the week.
Next time we run a contest at Lake Street, we'll use the dogs to pull carts down there with all the gear.
Man, I'm sore from that walk, surf and walk back. I'm oficially an "Old Fart" and it's stuff like that that has given many men my age a heart attack. Fortunately, I must be keeping pretty fit.
Watch for the upcoming ESA Christmas Board Raffle after we work out the logistics.
What a fun contest, despite all the challenges. Thanks to everyone who showed up and steamed their wetsuits by the fire.
It's the stoke level you guys exude that makes Jim and I gladly go through the effort it takes to run a contest in the Great Lakes.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
Lester.
For the Eastern Great Lakes guys:
Bill Lemmons was an Indiana surfer, who was a member of the "South End Surf CLub" and passed away a few years ago from complications with his diabetes condition. Bill came to Buffalo with us, I think to help us run the first contest at Area 51 on the Canadian side in 1998. This prompted Magilla to offer to run a couple of contests over there and the rest is history.
During that trip Magilla opened his house and heart to us and immediately became part of the ESA Ohana (that's family to non-Hawaiians).
