Location: 378 Fargo Avenue

This meeting will be open to all members of the Wyldewood Surf Club who have been part of our club since 1965. Our surf club is one of the oldest surf clubs in the Great Lakes. We are the only bi-national surf club in North America. Our members are surfers from Canada and the United States of America.
Some of our members now reside in British Columbia, Hawaii, California, Florida New Jersey, and Scotland.
378 Fargo Ave is very close to the Peace Bridge. Canadian club members without Nexus should check Peace Bridge traffic reports before you leave. Sometimes there is a longer wait depending on the amount of cars and trucks coming across the border.
The best document to have crossing the border is a Passport or an enhanced drivers license. One form of identification other than the passport or enhanced drivers license will cause you border crossing problems. Sorry the USA is still involved simultaneously in two theaters of war and battling pirates too. 911 requires stricter border security.
Business at hand we need to elect new officers.
We have two candidates for President and Vice President.
I hereby nominate Chris Furminger as President of the Wydewood Surf Club and Matt Roy as Vice President.
Honorary Members:
Lester Priday
Jim Hoop
Vince Deur
Bill Lemmons
Rell Sunn
Tom Blake
Other nominations for any club elected office can be made by any member of the club who attends the meeting.
All members of the club have a vote.
All members of the club must have surfed at Wyldewood Beach during one of our board meetings.
We have an internet forum for the Wyldewood Surf Club that was created by Tim Lee. Decisions need to be reached on who will have access to our forum. Will the forum be exclusively for club members or club members and guests or open to anybody? This decision must be reached by a collective membership vote.
A decision needs to be made if club members want clothing and other items with Wyldewood Surf Club logos to be publicly sold to non members and non surfers by way of our cub forum, as a way of funding the cost of the forum and for other cultural activities. This decision must be reached by a collective membership vote.
We have a proposal for a local night out for the club with specials for the club.
The floor will be also open to new business such as beach clean ups, a surf safari, club happenings, club environmental and shore access initiatives, protection of our historic surf breaks and Great Lakes water, and memberships in other environmental organizations and any sort of club idea that members bring to the meeting. All of these activities I have mentioned above are things that our club has been active in one time or another since our founding.
Refreshments (beer, soda pop, tea, or coffee) and snacks will be served at the meeting.
Bring your photographs to share and meet old and new members.
If we sort through all this business maybe we can watch a surf dvd.
Please lock in this date on your calender now in preparation to attend our next meeting.
