UPDATE: LEGALIZE SURFING IN CHICAGO!
* Two local surfers on NBC5 and ABC 7 Tonight!
Third Coast Surf Shop Owner, Ryan Gerard and Chicago surfer “Captain” Jack Flynn will be featured on ABC 7 Chicago at 6 (CT), and NBC 5 at 4:30 (CT). Members from the Lake Michigan chapter of the Surfrider Foundation met with Chicago Parks District authorities yesterday to finalize a plan to legalize surfing in Chicago on a trial basis. Osterman, Montrose, Rainbow, and 57th st beaches will be open to surfers from Labor Day to Memorial Day under these new guidelines. Representatives are also working on a plan to allow surfing on a trial basis during the summer at a yet to be determined city beach.
