Last night, Chris Furminger was elected the President and Matt Roy the Vice President of the Wyldewood Surf Club.

The Wyldewood Surf Club is the oldest, international,Great Lakes surf club. It's members are primarily Canadian and U.S. There are other members in our club living in Brazil, Scotland, and Mexico.

Furminger is the fifth surfer since 1965 to be elected as President of the club.

The chronilogical order of Wyldewood Surf Club Presidents are: Don Harrison, Derrick Richardson, Tim Jachalewski, Magilla Schaus and Chris Furminger.

It was also decided by attending Wyldewood Surf Club members and by phone in/email votes that only Wyldewood Surf Club members may purchase for themselves clothing and any other materials with Wyldewood Surf Club logos on them from the Wyldewood Surf Club Forum or any other manufacturer. Non approved use of the Wyldewood Surf Club logo by any for profit or non for profit corporation or club, or for any other person or entity, not approved by the Wyldewood Surf Club is subject to legal litigation. Any non approved usage of the Wyldwood Surf Club logo is strictly forbidden.


It was also decided that The Wyldewood Surf Club web forum is for members only and invited surfers, whose use of said forum has been pre approved by two of these four members of the Wyldewood Surf Club: Harrison, Schaus, Furminger, or Rogers.

Craig Rogers has been voted in as a member of the Wyldewood Surf Club.

Tim I will continue to pay for the cost of this site out of my pocket as a gesture towards giving back for the good surfing has done for my life.

If this option is no longer possible than I will ask as a member of the club if the cost could be paid for with club dues. We used to collect dues for postal mailings. There is no reason why we couldn't do the same for the web site.

No paddle has ever been part of our surf club from the genesis of it's existence. We make no fists they are no good for paddling.

my heartfelt congrats to Furm for this honor.

on the few occasions that I got to surf with him at H-Bay and the Palmwood he's been nothing but a true gentleman; always ceding waves to other riders even though it was his turn, congratulating other riders on good waves taken and sharing good stories out in the lineup...even about bodyboarding in Hawaii. he also has one of the smoothest riding styles I've seen on the lakes. a great many thanks to Chris for upholding the true spirit of wave riding.

I hope that one day I can become a member of the Wyldewood Surf Club.

Magilla leaves pretty big shoes to fill - I think they are about a size 13!
